New Year's Resolutions for the angler

Happy New Year! We hope all of you have stayed safe during this pandemic and got plenty of fishing time in while under quarantine.  There is plenty of optimism surrounding 2021 and the upcoming fishing season.

With a brand-new year on the horizon, it’s always a great time to discuss resolutions. We’ve gathered a few fishing resolutions every angler should aim to use in the upcoming year.

Be open to new techniques

Many anglers perfect their craft over a long period of time. Due to that, some fisherman can get stuck in their ways and not try anything new. But, as the old saying goes, there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

Talk to other fishermen near your favorite spot and see what techniques they are using. Research new technology and see what you may be able to use to enhance and refine your techniques. Keeping an open mind and constantly working to improve your craft should be at the top of your resolution list.

Work on your weaknesses

All anglers have a weakness whether it’s fishing in shallow water or not being able to catch anything in muddy water. The only way to make any improvements is to dedicate time and attention to fixing the weaknesses in your game.

Organize your tackle box

A tackle box is the essential item for every angler to have. Many tackle boxes work for their owners, even if it to the outside world it is an unholy mess. Taking some time to organize and arrange all the content in your tackle box will make the next fishing trip more efficient and effective.

Invest in technology
